§ 4-53. Hotel-motel in-room service.

  • (a)

    The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this subsection, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    In-room service means the provision of a cabinet or other facility located in a hotel-motel guestroom:

    (1)

    Which contains beer and/or wine only and which is provided upon written request of the guest;

    (2)

    Which is accessible by lock and key only to the guest;

    (3)

    For which the sale of the beer and/or wine contained therein is final at the time requested, except for a credit which may be given to the guest for any unused portion.

    (b)

    Any hotel-motel that acquires in-room service shall be also required to obtain a consumption on the premises license and meet all the requirements of this article.

    (c)

    No hotel-motel shall be authorized to provide in-room service until it has been issued a special license to do so. A license fee in the amount set forth in the schedule of fees on file with the General Government Administration Department shall be imposed to provide only beer and/or wine by in-room service.

    (d)

    The sale of beer and/or wine by in-room service shall be subject to all restrictions and limitations relative to the retail sale of any alcoholic beverages, except as provided otherwise in this article.

    (e)

    Keys for in-room service shall only be sold to guests between the hours of sales permitted in this article.
